How Blockchain Technology Enables Contextual Comparisons to Highlight Driving Risk

Session Description

The development of a distributed ledger technology affords auto insurers the ability to better compare, understand and rate driving risk among a pool of drivers.  Moving beyond measuring individual driving choices and behavior in isolation, blockchain technology allows insurers to measure risk exposure across a universe of drivers, events and driven environments, and calculate a predictive risk score.  With input from all types of devices, apps and data sources, the resulting validated, universal score provides a true picture of risk based on peer-to-peer comparison.  Insurers will no longer ask “how’s your driving?”; they’ll know “what’s your risk?”
